Foreclosure Prevention Training:
How to help homeowners facing foreclosure
As the foreclosure crisis sweeps across the state, organizations that encounter distressed homeowners are getting more and more questions about mortgage foreclosure. To help provide answers to these questions, the Minnesota Home Ownership Center and Neighborhood Development Alliance (NeDA) are offering a free workshop on how to help struggling homeowners.
This training will provide an overview of the foreclosure process, where to refer homeowners, an overview of assistance programs and information on how to prepare homeowners, especially homeowners in Minnesota's Latino Communities, to talk with a housing counselor or loan servicer.
Who should attend?
This training is specifically designed for staff from public, private, governmental and non-profit organizations who work with Latino/Hispanic/Spanish-Speaking homeowners who may be struggling with their monthly mortgage payment. This may include social workers, real-estate agents, librarians, clergy, community leaders, etc. THIS WORKSHOP IS NOT DESIGNED FOR STRUGGLING HOMEOWNERS.
